Dr Catharine Goodson received her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and graduated from the University of Texas at Houston with her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1985.
Her early mentors in dentistry included those with a strong belief in the benefits of sedation as a means to provide more comfort for apprehensive patients. They also modeled the values of continuing education in all areas of dentistry in order to continually serve our patients needs the best. Her father owned and operated a full service dental laboratory her entire life, so the respect for and the desire to practice dentistry has been firmly entrenched in her family background.
Dr. Goodson practices comprehensive dentistry including nitrous oxide, oral and IV sedation, orthodontics, implants, and all restorative dental services including the treatment of periodontal disease.
Dr. Goodson has received training in orthodontics with the Academy of GP orthodontics and the late Drs. Charlie Yates and Charles Witzig, Drs Brock Rondeau, and Robert Garrity.
Dr James D’Alise and the DuoDent Implant Institute facilitated her implant continuing education.
Her greatest career satisfaction though has been the assistance that inclusion of oral and I.V sedation has brought to her patients. Her IV sedation training was received at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners has recognized this training by extending priviledges to practices IV sedation with portability privileges. This training also includes certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support received in St. Albert, Canada and the University of Texas at Houston. Ongoing continuing education in Venipunture with recent certification from Medtexx has been received from Dr Goodson and attests to her commitment to her I.V. skills.
Dr. Goodson and her staff continue to attend training seminars and in-office workshops to refresh and learn new skills to serve their patients. They are committed to the highest level of patient satisfaction. The staff has been an active presence in the League City community for 14 years and maintains participation in many patient events and fundraisers. They pride themselves in the care they offer their patients.
Portable Anesthesia Services was founded by Dr. Goodson as an extension of her desire to provide in office sedation services for other dentists so they could best care for their patients. She and her staff now travel to dental offices and administer anesthesia for patients to allow dentists to perform their dental procedures. |
